Perched on the eastern horizon of Kathmandu valley lies mystical and peaceful Namobuddha Monastery, complemented by a backdrop of the mighty Himalayas and pristine trails through secluded backcountry.

Highlights

  2. Panorama of mountains seen from the ridge and monastery of Namobuddha
  3. Peaceful farm walks through 6km of pleasant, gradual downhill from Namobuddha to Balthali
  4. Views of rugged hilly landscapes of Phulchowki and her foothills seen on the way down to Eklekhet
  5. Pristine villages with old Nepali houses, and traditional lifestyle
  6. Plenty of Buddhist temples and Buddhist chhortens along the way
  7. Walking over suspension bridge in the deep ravines of Eklekhet
  8. Finishing at a resort in Balthali with quite a Nepali postcard scenery of farms, houses, forests and mountains

IMPORTANT PICKUP NOTES:

  1. Please be on time for the pickup. If you want to grab coffee or bakery from a cafe neraby, please do so before your pickup time. Any late shows will cause subsequent delays for fellow hikers waiting at other pickup spots. If you need to change your pickup location on hike morning, make sure to inform us beforehand
  2. There will be a briefing at trailhead before we start the hike. Please go through Important Details section on hike webpage for safety and logistics info

Itinerary

Drive to trailhead, briefing and start hiking, About 1 hour drive from Ring Road (Koteswor) to trailhead

Lunch break at 6.5km mark

Finish hiking, brief stop for loo and refreshments

About 1.5 hours drive from finish to Ring Road (Koteswor)
